Even if someone is skilled, unless they are is a licensed roofer, they often don’t understand the ins and outs of why roofs need to be installed certain ways. Handymen, homeowners, friends of friends, and even general contractors will often install roofs incorrectly. Much like going to a Podiatrist for foot problems instead of an Optometrist, you should have a roof specialist install or repair your roof as it is one of the most important aspects of your home. Instead of saving money on the install you may be out the cost of the replacement or repair to only have to pay someone full price to redo it correctly if it fails.
Having your rain gutters cleaned out regularly is very important. Rain gutter blockage can lead to overflowing gutters, damaged gutters, leaks into the home, and water damage at the eaves. It is recommended that rain gutters get cleaned out at the minimum of once per year. If there are nearby trees, pigeons, or you live in a dusty area, you will probably need to have them cleaned out much more often. A good gutter cleaner should be flushing out your downspouts as well so they don’t clog and cause overflow of the gutters.
As a seller, it is smart to find out ahead of time if there are any issues that may come up during the home inspection process, so you don’t have any surprises. If you have the potential issues addressed ahead of time you can make the whole process run more seamlessly. Selling a home is stressful and anything that creates less headaches can be a big deal. In some locations we offer a 2-year warranty after any issues are addressed and handing this off to a potential buyer can really add value to your sale.
